SKapade Studios is officially the only Pioneer DJ accredited DJ school in Scotland.
As Scotland’s only studio with full Pioneer DJ accreditation, and one of only four in the whole of the U.K, we wanted to dive into some of the things this means for us as a studio. We’ve been long admirers of Pioneer DJ, and from the moment we started at SKapade, it has always been our aim to work with industry leaders. It has taken a lot of hard work and dedication to reach this point, but this partnership is something we are incredibly proud of, and signals the beginning of an exciting chapter in the SKapade story.
Forging such a close partnership with Pioneer DJ allows us to deliver the highest quality training on the best equipment there is in the industry. Having the ability to teach on industry standard equipment found in venues across the world means that we can install confidence in our students that will make them feel right at home, wherever they play. For some people starting out though, a full rig might seem like a daunting prospect – so we can tailor to suit people’s needs, whatever their ability.
An entry level controller like the DDJ-400, combined with Rekordbox Performance Mode, is perfect for learning the basics of beat matching, and using EQs and effects. Once you feel confident on here, we can step up to something more advanced like the XDJ-XZ, which is the ultimate standalone unit that feels closer to a NXS2 setup than anything else. For those of you who like to get really creative with your sets, then why not experiment with adding the DJS-1000 to the setup as well? We’ve really enjoyed being able to dive in to this bit of kit and learn it’s full potential – and for anyone who likes to put their own stamp on their mixes, this is definitely worth playing about with!
We are also looking forward to getting our hands on the brand new DJM-V10 at the studio very soon. Having spent a considerable amount of time getting to know the mixer, we can see how this is going to be a game changer in the industry.
