We speak to the rising Italian Tech House star about his roots and where he sees himself going in the next few years...
How did you get into DJing/Music production?
I have had an innate passion for music since i was a child.
When i was a teen, I learned to play guitar and after some time i started playing in the garage with friends. Only at 20 i approched to the electronic music scene and i decided to put all my energy in mixing first then producing.
You have recently just released an EP on Elrow Music which is doing well in the Beatport and Traxsource charts and have released on the likes of CR2 Records, So Called Recordings & Simma Red. What else have you got in the pipeline?
I have a really busy schedule till the summer with my Simma Red EP out next May, then my return on Defined Music on June with a 3-track EP and another 4-track EP on the mighty Simma Black. I have some remixes in the pipeline too! So, stay tuned!
You were voted by Data Transmission as “One to watch” for 2017, how does it feel having your music recognised on an international scale?
I can describe what I feel right now. I really can't believe that I have had several tracks in the Tech House Top 10 during 2016 and i really haven't realized yet that my track THPS was chosen from Sam Divine for her great 'In The House' Compilation on Defected records. Support was unbelievable!
Could you tell us about the studio setup you have?
I work in a very simple studio: A Focusrite Audio Interface and 2 KRK' Monitors, the magical Volca Bass by Korg and an Arturia Minilab and last but not least my DAW, Fruity Loops. Nothing else :)
Your unique sound has developed over the last few years, how do you see it further developing in the future?
I work day after day to improve my own sound. At this time, i'm feeling more attracted towards tribal rhythms, bongas and percussions than my usual stuff. You will be a little surprised for my future releases!
You recently played at Daylight Robbery's label showcase in London, do you have any plans to come back in the future? Do you have any upcoming gigs that you can tell us about?
Yeah, that night was amazing. I played alongside a lot of friends such as Matteo Rosolare, Jojo Angel and Apollo 84. I'll never forget how great it was! As for upcoming gigs, I have some parties here in Italy but nothing confirmed for other European gigs at the moment. But who knows, summer is coming!
Where can we expect to see you in 2017?
I really hope to play in the UK again really soon. I love the English club culture and it's an amazing expierence to play there! 2017 is the beginning of my journey, I really hope to smash some dancefloors all around the globe!
Thank you for the interview guys! I really enjoyed answering to your questions!
